Agios Kosmas

Information about Agios Kosmas and the Doric temple from approximately 1900 years earlier, where many of the building materials were taken in constructing, the 720 year-old Agios Kosmas.

Kytherian artist, Daphne Petrohilos has painted how she thinks the temple to the Dioskouri may have looked around 2500 years ago.

Here, Daphne Petrohilos has created an artist's impression of what the temple to the Dioskouri may have looked like during 500 BC.

Columns and other parts of the temple were reused by the Byzantines when constructing the Agios Kosmas church, around 1900 years later. They have been preserved and hold up the roof of the church today.
